I am looking for information about IGMP in VLC, specifically: does VLC send IGMP queries?
If not, are there any recommendations for achieving IGMP querying using PCs? In the past I have either bought a switch or played queries back using shell scripts and bittwist.

For the umpteenth time, no VLC does not send IGMP queries.

I have met the same problem,and very confused.
Here is my testing enviroment for IGMP Snooping protocol:PC1 is multicast server,PC2 is the client on the same LAN.
The problem is :There are IGMP report packets when PC2 join or leave the multicast address,
but there isn't any IGMP query packets all the time.
I wanna know why?
and how can generate IGMP query packets?
