I've upated from a very old version (0.8xx), to 1.01, and now VLC doesn't show subtitles.

I open the file like I always did, but no subtitles. When I go to Video > Subtitles Track ... Track 1 is checked.

I'm getting the same issue with version 0.9.9 in MacOSX

What's wrong with these new VLC versions?

Subtitltes work fine, otherwise we'd have seen thousands of complaints for the whole year since 0.9.0 was released.

Make sure the fonts and character sets are correct.
