How to make VLC player deinterlace an interlaced video?

Hello!
Media Player Classic deinterlaces HDV 1440*1080 50i *.m2t files automatically, with default settings. VLC player does not turn on a deinterlacing automatically. I have to turn on Linear deinterlacing only during a playback of every file in a playlist. Turning on a deinterlacing restarts a playback. I do not know how to turn on the deinterlacing before a playback.
How to make VLC player to playback HDV 1440*1080 50i *.m2t using Linear deinterlacing without a need to turn on the deinterlacing during playback of every file in a playlist?
Regards

I think there is a very easy-to-find dedicated option in preference dialog of the GUI (see video panel)

Thanks thannoy for replying!
I checked "Deinterlacing video filter" in Filters in Video in Preferences, and Linear in Display in "Deinterlacing video filter" in "Deinterlacing", but these did not help.

There seem to be quite a few folks for whom deinterlacing doesn't work. Maybe the feature has not been implemented yet ?
