installing driver

Your Mac. system X instructions state that after downloading there will be "a file" on the desk top. There is a file : vic-0.8.1dmg ( a disk image file) and a second: vic-o.8.1 ( volume ) . Instructions are to drop" the file" into Disk Copy which is a system 9 utility. Then open and drag the VLC application to the applications folder. I can't see this. What I did find is that if I click on the "volume" a folder opens with the VLC app in it. Do I drag this to my application folder in system X?
Thanks,
Doug

Disk copy is also a OS utility, but with 10.3 is was renamed to disk utility and it is automatically launched if you download a .dmg file
Don't use PMs for support questions.
