I have some AVCHD home movies that I am trying to play using the VLC player. The files play, but even the slightest motion causes the impage to become very pixelated and distorted. Is there a way to fix this?

NOTE: I am a novice in this area so if you respond, please respond like you are talking to someone with very little knowledge of jargon, etc.
