Hey guys, I hope this is not a stupid question but I have played with every option this player has and cant find the basic fundimental option that every player on the planet has, saving video.

Say Im on a website that host media files .wmv.mp4.mpeg.mp3 whatever and I play those files in the player. Mine downloads the files first just like say media player classic then begins to play my vid. If I dont like the vid I close it, however if I want to save that vid that has already been downloaded to the temp IE cache why the heck can I not right click on the video and (save as) like any other player? There is no drop down option to do so either. Now I can save the vid Im not stupid but I dont want to take 3 extra steps for such a simple task, I shouldnt have to restream it, recode it, copy it from the cache, its already on my drive I just want to save it to a preferred folder or something, directly from the player, quickly. This is unbelievable to me so I obviously am blind or something, can someone help?

Your question is so unclear, that noone understands it. You speak about IE cache and we speak about VLC.

You speak about cache for video files...

unclear? Alright I'll ltry again.

Explicit explanation....

If Im on a porn site and I click on a vid, it downloads "to a temp directory, because thats what it does you see" then starts playing in my VLC player, and I watch it, and it ends.

HOW CAN I SAVE THAT VIDEO I JUST WATCHED. In Windows Media Player you can select file/save as to where ever you like. You can right click on the freakin pic of the video and save as, like to my favorite porn folder where all my really good porn lives.

Does that break it down for you?

This is a configuration problem in your browser. It should start VLC with the URL, not download the file.

I think this is more of a feature request. He wants "Media > Save File to Local Disk" added to the file menu. Would this be hard to code?

Open Media > Network Tab > Convert / Save has options for Enqueue, Play, Stream, Convert but no option for simply saving the file w/o transcoding? This doesn't seem right. I haven't used this feature but it would seem that the button should be titled "Convert/Stream" not "Convert/Save" as it is now.
