Stopping on last frame

I often need to view the last frame of a video so I know where to begin my next session. I have been using the 'jump to specific time' option and selecting one second before the end. That works okay but it is a little slow. I would like to be able to just drag the timeslider to the end of the video. However, when I do that the video either starts over or minimizes and stops - depending on the settings I have selected. Is it possible to configure vlc so I can drag the timeslider to the last frame and just stop right there.
