Awesome fluctuation enhancement

Hey everyone, I was playing my favourite song in VLC player the otherday and I started messing around with the faster and slower functions in the player. After messing around with it for a while I noticed the music started stuttering and hiccuping gradually. However while this was happening, the song was now progressively sounding much more enhanced with a powerful and energized boost to each of its layers making it so much more enjoyable to hear.

I also noticed this effect when any kind of fluctuation occurs with my headphones perticularly minor disorientation of input and output connectivity or plugging a heavy peripheral on nearby USB ports.

Can anyone tell me why is this awesomeness achieved by simply doing things that would apparently nudge the music system?
