Subtitle Shadows

Postby dave_penguin » 22 Dec 2004 16:56

Hello, is there any way of adding shadows to subtitles? They are sometimes a little difficult to read.

Also I'm probably being really dumb but is there any way of keeping the window on top? I'm using WinXP and VLC 0.8.1

Thanks in advance

Start using --video-on-top (vlc --video-on-top)
(the same thing should be accessible through Settings -- Preferences, probably under General -- Video)

No idea on shadows.

There are shadows on subs, but they are only 1 pixel wide. So for higher resolutions, the shadow gets very thin.

There isn't a 100% way to solve this, since doing a more advanced proces will be quite CPU intensive i've been told.
