Split Muxed File to 4 Audio Channels

Hi,

I'm sure this information exists somewhere, but after a bit of unproductive searching, I thought I would just post the question. I am getting an MPEG2 Muxed file sent to me - it has 4 audio channels on it (i.e. Narr, Music, FX, Dialogue). I have successfully used VLC to transcode MPEG2 Muxed files that have a stereo mix on them (ie 2 audio channels only), but I am having difficulty transcoding the files with 4 audio channels on them. I would like to transcode the file for use in an Avid Editing System, and would need the 4 audio channels to stay split. I have tried changing the audio channel to both 2 and 4 to no avail.

Also, I have been transcoding the video to H.264, but I am open to new codec/encapsulation methods that would work better with Avid. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time and patience!
