Cannot play video files that have no audio

Hello.

Generally, I have no problems with VLC but now I came across several WMV3 files that are video-only (no sound) and they do not play. Sadly, the shortest of these is about 150MB.
I've tried turning on or off the audio wherever I could, but it just rushes through the video at 100% CPU usage, with a black screen.
After turning off the "Skip frames" and "Drop late frames", sometimes it shows the beginning of the video for a short time, or a few frames in the middle.
After turning on the "Logging", I'm getting many lines like this:
main warning: early picture skipped
Probably VLC drops video, trying to synchronize to the audio that never comes.
Is it possible there's such an obvious bug? I've also tried "Play another media synchronously" with some .mp3 but it didn't help. I've tried VLC 0.9.2, 0.9.9 and 1.0.0RC4 with similar results. All other players, including WMP 11, play just fine.
If anybody's interested, a log is here: http://milan_vx.sweb.cz/VLC/vlc_playing_a_wmv_without_audio.zip I'm not quite sure what's good and what's bad in there.
