Hi I'm new to the forum, and am hoping someone can help me with my problem. This is a general system question, so I hope i'm not spamming

Here is my problem. I've installed VLC 0.9.9 on my pc with Windows XP software, in attempt to play my avi video files. However, every file I play has a distorted picture, giving sort of a blue tint. For example, the people's faces are blue when they should be normal. I've tried going into the "extended settings section" to fix it, but it wasn't working.

When I take a "snap shot" of the video, the picture is perfect. Can someone please help me?

Hey,

I was having this same problem with videos in all of my media players and even when viewing a webcam over Skype. I at first thought is was a codec problem, but it turned out to be a problem with my video card settings. I am still using the interrelated Nvidia video care on my Compaq running Vista. I fixed the problem by going in to my Nvidia control panel and under
"adjust video settings">>"How do you make color adjustments"
and setting parameters to "Withe video player settings" as opposed to "With the Nvidia settings".

This has resolved the issue for me. If you have a different type of video card, I would just try adjusting some of the settings to see if you can fix the problem. Good luck :-)
