"Fuzzy" subtitle detection?

Postby schnorginator » 17 May 2009 07:45

Hi; I recently used DVD Shrink to remove two custom Spanish subtitle streams from an ISO file; the output was Video_TS and Audio_TS folders. However, the streams still show up in the VLC subtitles options menu, although when selected no subtitle picture is rendered. I played the same Video_TS folder on MPlayer, which didn't notice any subtitle streams and had no subtitle options, as I was hoping for. Why does VLC still think there are subtitle streams in my DVD?

I read something which I still don't quite understand on "fuzzy" subtitle detection; what exactly is it, and is there actually something still in my DVD that is causing VLC to think spanish subs exist? If so, could you give me some advice on how to get rid of this data? It may be of some value to note that I tried removing the subtitles with DVDFab as well, with similar results to DVD Shrink.

Thanks for any help! :o
