dual Monitor issue

I have a problem with video playback and dual monitors. I've searched the forum already I didn't see anything that was quite like the problem I'm having.

I have a 19" inch LCD on my right, and an older CRT on the left. They are both the primary and secondary, because I switch that a lot. I'm a gamer, and when playing counter strike I have to play on the CRT, therefore it is the primary, but for almost everything else I have the LCD as the primary.

When I'm playing warcraft, WoW, or diablo(etc) I like to watch movies or TV on the other monitor. the problem is that during full screen games like diablo or cs the video will go blank on the other screen. I did some looking into it and discovered that using other output modes can alleviate this problem, but not fully. If i put it on OPENgl output, the video will stay on even when i full screen the other programs, but the video itself is messed up, like crappy looking and pixelated. I experimented with a couple other ones and for the most part nothing works... the closest I've gotten is using Windows GDI video output, which plays the video looking normal(or relatively close) but if i full screen the video and then full screen the other program it messes up.

If it helps I have a Geforce 7900GS with the LCD connected via DVI and the CRT connected with VGA.

Any ideas?

Also sorry if this question is answered somewhere, I looked through but didn't see it.

Well I'm sorry to ask another noobie question, but how do i deactivate overlay? I don't see that in any of the advanced settings so I'm obviously overlooking it somewhere!

well I tried that and it doesn't seem to have any effect. When using default output without overlay everything is still the game. Windows GDI works when i bring the games up to fullscreen but it doesn't look as good as it should, and I can't full screen the video and thenf ull screen the game because then the video like, breaks in half on the screen is the best way to describe it haha.

I'm also having this annoying problem My primary is a 22" lcd using a 54" plasma as my secondary monitor. While playing WOW i run movies on the secondary and until I updated VLC had no issues but now when playing WOW r even using firefox on my primary the video pauses while the audio continues. I have experimented and it happens while i'm running a movie from any HDD, dvd drive and it's getting quite annoying :(. I also disable all other programs and processes that may be running in the background. It seems to me my option is to go back to the previous version unless somebody can think of something :(

How do you know when your LCD monitor is dying? I mean, are there any tell-tale signs that an LCD monitor is going on the fritz. The whole screen is kind of jumpy and you can kind of see it flickering really fast. Like what old CRT monitors used to look like when you saw them on TV. A line slowly makes it's way from the bottom to the top of the screen. This is what I'm experiencing, jus tthe lines are moving alot faster.
