my videos play upside down

my videos play upside down in not only my vcl but in windows media . i downloaded a recomended update from vlc and i noticed that one of the files read experimental.i also found a setting in vcl where i could rotate 180 degrees. i'm not sure about what i was rotating. i uninstalled vcl and will soon be reinstaling however the unstall did not fix the problem with wmp. help please. my only other option is to turn my monitor upside down.
