Aspect Ratio Problems while transcoding.

Hi there,

I've been trying to use VLC to convert .avi files to .wmv for use on an Xbox360, since the Xbox can't play anything with a cool encoding/encapsulation. In any case, I take a file and run it through the "Convert/Save" feature, select "Xbox" under profile, and click "Save"... Looking at the outputted file on Windows Media Player, VLC, etc. the video appears to be in 4:3 aspect ratio even though the source is 16:9. Thus the video looked squished/squeezed. I was wondering if there is any command/flag that can be added to force VLC to maintain the original video's aspect ratio or at least specify which aspect ratio for VLC to output the file with? Thanks.

Here is a rc1 link: http://download.videolan.org/pub/videol ... rc1/win32/
Or have a look here for absolutely unmaintained versions: http://nightlies.videolan.org/

Thanks! That fixed the aspect ratio problem. However a new problem cropped up that wasn't present before. The subtitles in the file I'm trying to transcode don't show up in the output. It's an mkv, so I'm not trying to use a separate subtitle file.
