Hi,

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am trying to playback an IPTV stream from my ISP SaskTel.
All of the Channels playback fine except two, Spike and Peachtree, they playback with a garbled picture.
For the record I DO subscribe to these channels.
I do not know exactly how to troubleshoot this in VLC. I did however wireshark the STB picking up the streams and there are two packet types being transmitted MPEG PES and udp. I noticed that parts of the MPEG PES streams contain only FF FF FF FF, here is a snipet of one:

I am running Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope, and my VLC version is 0.9.9a.

I just finished trying to play the same stream using FFMPEG codec, and it is still having the same problem, here is part of the output from that:

Doesn't seem very standard, does it?

So I take it, I shouldn't have alot of hope for this?? (sorry for being a newb)
My goal, is to set-up a mythtv box and have it record the streams directly from the dslam over ethernet, instead using a capture card and the STB, as over ethernet the dslam will allocate the mythtv box 2 streams, while the stb is only capable of utilizing one.

Well, I guess those are non-standard TS, so, either you can code for the support of it, or I don't know

and how would I go about coding for such support?

So I went through and captured packets of the other channels that I get, and it turns out they have blocks of the FF FF also.
And after poking around on the internet I came across dvbsnoop. I ran output of the channels captured by VLC through dvb snoop and found that the two channels it will not play are: "Scrambled using Odd key", is there any way to descramble these channels, as I DO pay for a subscription to them, and CAN receive them with the STB, but find mythtv a much more powerfull (and cheaper) solution than the ISP's dvr.
