A.S.S subtitle size

Postby leptogenesis » 12 May 2009 00:00

I have a number of videos that use A.S.S subtitles, and while they render correctly, the subtitles appear too small on my monitor (I guess the encoders assumed a higher resolution). Is there any way to override the size specified by the subtitle track? I've tried changing the size setting under Tools -> Preferences -> subtitles/OSD, but the subtitles remain the same.

I'm using VLC 0.9.9a on Ubuntu Jaunty.

In 2014 at version 2.1.4 still the same problem. The subtitle settings in VLC have no effect for ".ass" formatted subtitles. They are displaying too small for me as well.
