No file created during conversion

Hi,

I may do things wrong, but couldn't find the solution by google.
I am trying to convert audio files. I tried different things with different files and it never worked.

For example, I have opened an mp3 and wanted to save it as wave. The conversion seems to run, but no file is created. There is no error message.

Did any of you experience this? Why does VLC create no output file?

Turn messages on by going to view -> messages if you haven't done that already. Depending on the level you specify you should get a bunch of messages that may give you a clue about which parameter is wrong. An error can suppress file generation.
