AAC decoding (save the pride of my amplifier)

I have a reciever (an amplifier) which is able to decode Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic.
I got AAC encoded audio (streams in a video file) with 6 channels but my amplifier is simply decoding it as a 2 channels stream (of course, it doesn't have the decoder inside). How do i make it to recieve the 6 channels via software from my linux box? Which codec, which vlc or mplayer setting, which command...?

AAC and A52 codecs are already installed in vlc.

Thank you

Why don't you decode it with VLC and output it in PCM for you amplifier?

That is exactly what i do.. The only problem is that my amplifier see the stream as a multichannel only if it is ac3...
Vlc by now with it's configuration and codecs is shooting out an aac strem with 6 channels asa a pcm with 2 channels
