Audio problems

The audio ripples so that you can hardly understand it. This only happens when I play a dvd on vlc. Audio from my computer sounds or playing anything from youtube or anywhere on the net is fine.
I have spent many days trying to adjust my audio functions and so forth and vlc configurations and I cannot find anything to fix the problem. I desperately need help, please?

I believe I have the same error as you dre0628. While playing a dvd, every second, the sound kinda scrambles. Tried various dvd's, still the same error. Also, when it scrambles, I find, when moving the mouse, that lags for the same amount of time the sound scramble happens. Upon trying other media types, .avi's, .mkv's .mp4's, these all work fine, it's just the dvd's.
Edit: While playing a dvd just now, (wanted to do a test) I selected the Media Information window to display, and at every 'scramble' of audio, the "Audio - Lost buffers" count is advancing continuously.

Do you have DMA enabled? Is your CPU peaking?

I discovered the problem. It was an audio driver that needed updated after a new motherboard installation. However, to this day, VLC does not work on my pc. I have 4 or 5 other media players on my pc which work perfectly but for some reason VLC is extremely distorted so I was forced to remove the program from my computer.

Driver is probably buggy. Try another audio output.
