I have looked everywhere and i cant find anything on it.
Can vlc rip? if so how can i do it?

dvdsimple:// is broken AFAIK in 0.9.8a. Try 0.9.6:
http://downloads.videolan.org/pub/vlc/0.9.6/win32/
As both 0.9.9-rc2 and 1.0.0-pre1 seem to be broken/crash when using dvdsimple as well.

vlc-0.9.6-win32.zip if you want in in a folder. vlc-0.9.6-win32.exe if you want to install it (for example, over 0.9.8a).
