i want to edit vlc files.

hi

First of all let me tell u that i don't know much about computers.
i want to edit the vlc movie files using Blaze media pro (add sub titles)
but when i load the vlc file on editing software, all i see is a black screen with just the audio? it used to work fine before with the old vlc player (which i deleted) but now i can't with the new one (VLCportable...i think it has something to do with vlc player settings...can someone please help me??

If it uses VLC you probably need to have the official install of VLC installed:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Otherwise it probably uses DirectShow codecs. Use e.g. ffdshow for more DirectShow-supported formats (i.e. will also enable playback of those files in Windows Media Player if supported).
