[bugs][osx]Hotkeys mania

Tried to setup VLC 0.7.0 keybindings to match Mplayer2. I run Mac OS X Panther. Here's what I discovered:
  • You cannot bind to numeric keys. This would be nice, for Mplayer2 compability (0-9 = volume up / down)
  • You must restart VLC for changes to take effect. Not really a bug, but a bit irritating.
  • The bindings are saved in a somewhat erratic manner. Sometimes keys are swapped, sometimes my changes are ignored. I have yet to discover any pattern, but... I so far cannot set the "navigate" keys to "Unset" which makes me all sad, since I need the arrow keys for other purposes (ffwd and rwnd in mplayer2)
  • If one edits ~/Library/Preferences/VLC/vlcrc manually instead of using the GUI in VLC, one is up --please stay polite-- creek without a paddle. VLC ignores most of the changes I make - there's probably a pattern but I can't see it yet.
This is after roughly half an hour of testing, I'll keep testing to see if I can find any patterns to the bugs. Hope you can make some sense out of my findings.

Other than that, thanks for a GREAT upgrade. VLC owns.

The bug is that you can only make ONE change to the keycombo of a certain function at a time. I know this bug, just didn't have the time to fix it. And you HAVE to restart VLC, because else i need to recreate the Menubar after you save, and that is a bit too much trouble to be worth it :)

OK, good to know. At least it's work-aroundable.

What about editing the vlcrc file directly, is it supposed to work?
