jVLC: Video is played in a separate frame (swing app)

I'm using latest version of VLC and jVLC from git in Ubuntu Intrepid and having following problem:
Even in examples from bindings/java/samples/ all players use separate frames for video output instead of corresponding canvases.
Did anybody faced such problem and is there a solution for it so far?
