VLC plays MP4 files with a lot of screen breaks

Hi.

When playing MP4 files created with a large distance between keyframes (like 120), VLC displays broken screen with a lot of artifacts. This eventually cleared, but is broken again on another seek in file.

QuickTime player works fine.

Any idea how to solve this? Is there any option forcing VLC to play from keyframes and not break the screen?

Thanks in advance.

Well, yes, this is normal, since VLC cannot guess the video without a keyframe. I don't think we can do anything about it.

Hi.

Then how QuickTime works?

Is it possible to tell VLC to always jump to keyframe, even if it means moving before the requested time?

Thanks.
