Video screen for audio clips

Postby iannou » 05 Feb 2009 22:44

Hi

First post

I don't believe this is OS specific, so I'm posting it here. I'm using Firefox 3.05 with VLC plugin (0.9.8a) on an XP box.

My issue is that I'm using a website to learn a new language, and there are many mp3 files of just a second or 2 in duration. My browser shows the black "No Video" screen each time I left click of these files. The annoying part is that I'd really rather be looking at the foreign language word that I'm learning while listening to the audio clip. Plus I'm obliged to hit the back arrow to get back to the page I was viewing.

I can keep my page in view if I right click and open the VLC player in a new tab, but this results in a lot of open tabs very quickly -- especially if I want to listen a second or third time to the clip. Is there a way to play the audio without navigating off the page or opening multiple new tabs?

TIA,
Ian
