Merging subtitles and saving output?

Postby dwasifar » 28 Jan 2009 22:10

I have an .flv with an .srt file for subtitles. They work fine in VLC together. I'd like to merge the subtitles into the video stream to upload the video to YouTube (the subtitles are kind of the point of the thing; google "Buffalax" if you want to see what I'm aiming for). But whenever I try to do a save-as, VLC tells me it can't open the input files, then makes a liar out of itself by playing them, and creates an empty output file.

I understand transcoding is involved, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Looks like your transcode or output settings are wrong.
