Last.fm connection does not work?

At
http://wiki.videolan.org/Mini_Projects#Audioscrobbler it says "Plugin is finished, now part of vlc 0.9.0". Using vlc 0.9.8a the connection to Last.fm does not work.

To help you, we need
messages, to completely understand what your problems is.
To fix this, please be sure
before you start the playback to:
- Open: Tools -> Messages.
- Set Verbosity to 2
- Start playback to reproduce your issue
- Save text in a file or copy into clipboard
- Then paste the full resulting log here between
and
(or use Pastebin.com if it's too long)
Also don't forget to name your
Operating System and provide the
VLC media player version.

Have you enabled Last.fm submission in VLC in the Preferences and then restarted VLC? Use an audio track with correctly working tags.
Arite.

@Arite: Thank you for your reply, yes, I have enabled last.fm submission, I have entered my correct last.fm user id and password and I also have tried to exit and restart VLC, VLC showed my settings for last.fm correctly, before playling/submmission to last.fm testing. Certainly I used a correctly tagged track. The same track is correctly submitted to last.fm using my own scrobbler as well as other working scrobblers, e.g. Windows Media Player with the last.fm plugin, etc.
@j-b: I tested on Windows XP SP3 and on Windows Vista 32-Bit both with VLC 0.9.8.a and I have no idea how to "open the messages dialog with verbosity set to 2"

hey, I now found the messages window. And when I played a track again to generate the messages it now worked. Might be that I did something wrong before. Thanks again for your replies.
