Pausing a Live Stream should keep the stream buffed locally

Pausing a Live Stream should keep the stream buffed locally

Postby Harakiri » 20 Jan 2009 23:04

Hello,

when i use VLC to hear internet radio and press the pause button - the pause does not really seem to work - because when i click resume - it just reconnects and starts from the current time from the server.

What i expected (and how Winamp handles url streams) is, that when i press pause - VLC buffers the stream locally (Save to temp file?) till i press resume again, and then play from when i pressed pause.

Example Stream:

http://tiscali.project-fx.de/play.wma?radio=starfmbln

thanks

Enable the timeshifting access filter if that is what you want.

--timeshift-force

but MMS streams are not quite suited for timeshifting in any case. Better use VLC 1.0 for true timeshifting.
