BUG: --no-audio is ignored

Postby kot » 19 Jan 2009 02:34

Hello!

I tried to work around a local problem with audio by disabling audio component altogether. My vlc is:

Code: Select all

VLC media player 0.9.8a Grishenko [00000001] main libvlc debug: VLC media player - version 0.9.8a Grishenko - (c) 1996-2008 the VideoLAN team [00000001] main libvlc debug: libvlc was configured with ./configure '--enable-vlc' '--enable-avcodec' '--enable-avformat' '--enable-postproc' '--without-dv-raw1394' '--disable-dv' '--enable-gnomevfs' '--enable-qt4' '--enable-notify' '--disable-skins2' '--enable-loader' '--disable-jack' '--disable-remoteosd' '--disable-pulse' '--disable-fluidsynth' '--enable-zvbi' '--enable-hal' '--enable-arts' ' --enable-bonjour' '--enable-vcd' '--enable-libcddb' '--disable-cddax' '--enable- cdda' '--enable-cddax' '--enable-dvbpsi' '--with-dvbpsi=/opt' '--enable-dvdnav' '--disable-dvdread' '--disable-esd' '--with-ffmpeg-faac' '--enable-faad' '--enable-flac' --enable-fribidi' '--disable-aa' '--disable-dirac' '--disable-schroedinger' '--enable-x264' '--enable-lua' '--disable-caca' '--enable-dca' '--disable-ggi' '--enable-mkv' --enable-a52' '--enable-libmpeg2' '--enable-real' '--enable-realrtsp' '--enable-shout' '--enable-theora' '--enable-live555' '--with-live555-tree=/opt/live' '--enable-aglib' '--enable-mad' '--with-mad=/opt' '--enable-mod' '--enable-mpc' '--enable-ogg' '--disable-galaktos' '--disable-smb' '--enable-sdl' '--enable-gnutls' '--enable-peex' '--enable-svg' '--enable-svgalib' '--disable-tremor' '--enable-twolame' '--enable-vorbis' '--disable-xosd' '--enable-release' '--prefix=/opt' '--mandir=/opt/man' --infodir=/opt/info/' '--build=i386-portbld-freebsd7.0' 'build_alias=i386-portbld-freebsd7.0' 'CC=cc' 'CFLAGS=-O2 -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -march=athlon-mp' CXX=c++' 'CXXFLAGS=-O2 -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -march=athlon-mp' 'LUA_CFLAGS=-I/opt/include/lua51' 'LUA_LIBS=-L/opt/lib/lua51 -llua'
My command line is:
vlc --no-audio --no-sout-display-audio rtsp://user:password@host.algebra.com/nphMpeg4/g726-320x240
After some time trying, I get the following errors, which reveal, that, despite the --no-audio, an attempt is made to obtain the audio substream:
[00000402] live555 demux error: SETUP of'audio/G726-32' failed Failed to read response: Unknown error: 0
I tried to report this via trac, but could not find a link to "create new ticket"... Please, advise. Thanks.

--no-audio disables decoding/performing the audio. It does not disable demultiplexing it, at least not with the current design.
