Zooming and full screen

Hello I've used VLC for some time but there is still a point where Media Player Classic win in my opinion and I wonder if VLC can do the same.
When watching a movie, full screen mode fill all the screen with black and let you resize the video how you want it (100%,200%,full screen) but in VLC it is different, for me full screen automatically fill ALL the screen with the video and for low quality ones it is unwatchable.
I wonder if I can resize it while in full screen
Thanks

i was looking for the same thing, is there really no way of doing this? i have these xvid movies that are 592x320 and the way VLC blows them up in full screen mode i end up counting pixels instead of enjoying the series. the best i could come up with was putting a black background on one of my desktops, hiding the panel, manually resetting the ratio to 1:1 and moving it to the middle of the screen... it does the trick but seems to be quit a bit of work for something that shouldn't be that hard for a media player to do... any other suggestions? thanks!

Thanks but that is not what we (At least I)were asking about:P
Or maybe I did not understand what you said
But I want to be able to zoom let's say 50% while being in full screen mode so I have black bars everywhere and the video the size it is meant to be (depending on quality and format)

I think that this is what you want. "the video the size it is meant to be" is what I call 100% of the video.
