Hi Everbody,
Finally I have got two Hauppauge PVR 250/350 cards working simultanously under videolan, windows 2000 WITH sound
See bellow a how to!
How to: Install and use 2 hauppauge PVR 250/350 cards with videolan under windows:
1)First install one card in PCI bus
2)Turn on PC and install lattest drivers and wintv 2000
3)Install Graph edit (This is used to control the properties of the hauppage hardware)
4)Install second card in PCI bus
5)Turn on Pc and the drivers for the second card will be installed
6)
IMPORTANT step:
Modify the register, such that the names of the outputs of the cature cards, Which are the inputs for Dshow have a different name.
During the 'normal' install they get the same friendly name 'Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture' Because the name is the same videolan is
not able to distinguish the different cards on the harware level. The 'friendl name' which is used by videolan should therefore be modified
of one of the cards. This can be done in the registry.
In my registry this was the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceClasses\{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}\##?#PCI#VEN_4444&DEV_0803&SUBSYS_40000070&REV_01#3&61AAA01&0&58#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}\#Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture\Device Parameters
There I changed 'FriendlyName' from "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture" to "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI I Capture"
Propably the name of the key will be different for you.. so search on the term "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI I Capture"
7)Start videolan twice and choose the two different dshow devices ("Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture" and "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI I Capture")
Probbaly you now get a back screen or snow and no sound. What still has to be done is tune both cards to a correct frequency and make the correct
connections in the crossbar hardware. This can be done with the Graph edit application. Open it and choose 'insert filters'
Insert the following filters:
-Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar (Open it twice)
-Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvTuner (Open it twice)
Then edit the filter properties of the two cross bars:
-Connect the 'video decoder out' to 'the video tuner in'
-Conncet the 'audio decoder out' to 'the audio tuner in'
(If you want to capture sound or video from another source it is possible to adjust it also in this windows, by just connecting the outputs to another input)
Then open the tuner properties of the two TvTuner filters and adjust to the correct TV channel
Now it should work!
Have Fun!
