Looping behavior in VLC player

I need to loop video in VLC, but when it does so, at the end of the clip, it closes the video window, waits a quick second, then opens it again and plays, then does the same. This is very distracting and has two very annoying side effects. If I set filters for the clip (deinterlacing, for example), then when it loops, each loop the video window re-activates, resetting any video options you've set. So I either need to set those options as default for every clip, or pause and redo the settings each time the video loops. Also, for very short clips, that resetting window can be downright frustrating when I want to close the clip or program, as the X button is contantly shifting between fullscreen and the little VLC player window. It took me about 20 seconds to try and quit when it was looping a 1 second clip. I guess I could have killed it in taskman...

Is there away to tell the player to keep the video window open while it loops, and to keep the video settings active through the entire loop cycle? If not, PLEASE fix this, as it is very frustrating and has forced me to search for another player.

Thanks

0.8.6 has the behaviour you want and 1.0 should have it too.

Thanks... does 0.8.6 fully support AVCHD files? That is primarily what I was using VLC for.

No. Even some AVCHD files are not supported by 0.9
