Problems playing streams

Hi,
I'm trying to use VLC to play a radiostream from the RAI (Italian public service broadcaster), but I'm unable to play it with VLC. The URL to the stream is http://www.raibz.rai.it/pop_stream.php?strutt=de .
I have the same problem with a Videostream of the RAI http://www.raibz.rai.it/pop_video.php?strutt=de . Is there a way to play this streams with VLC, or are they only playable with RealPlayer and Mediaplayer?
