vlc & girder -> remote control?

hi,
i am trying to make use of the rc-interface in vlc in order to get a 2way-connection with girder.
i start vlc with --intf=rc --rc-host=**ip-adress**:1035
i get the rc-console. ok. (i can connect via telnet **ip-adress** 1035.)
in girder i try to use the internet event client to send a "quit" to 127.0.0.1:1035, but nothing happens.
i am not a programing-wiz (as you can see), so plz help me...
