Hi, I am recenttly exploring VLC-features and I wonder if I can convert multiple flv-files to mpeg1, or must I do this, one by one ?

Exactly what I'm wondering.

The interface seems to let you choose multiple files for converting... but only one file name for output.

Any ideas?

You have to batch it.

Using it in batch.
Can you give the syntaxis?

Wow, this is the most retarded thing I've seen in ages. It makes you choose an output file when one doesn't even exist yet.

This convert feature would make SO MUCH MORE SENSE if it used foobar's style: choose an output directory, select your settings (filetype, codec, conversion etc) then just hit enter.

Having to revert to scripts for a multiple file convert is just ridiculous to me

Well, having just converted 15 flvs to wmv I can tell you VLC is a seriously unfriendly way to convert videos. The dialog boxes are not user friendly at all, naming the new file is a pain, as is specifying the file extension. Of course it won't save previous settings either. A seriously inelegant solution you've got there folks, it'd be great if someone could design a half decent interface for the conversion option. As it is I'm afraid it sucks.

IT would be better if vegas pro would accept flvs in the first place, then I wouldn't have had to endure this horrible process
