Automatically load multiple folders as playlist?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Automatically load multiple folders as playlist?

Postby angela79at » 20 Nov 2008 08:33

Hi,

is there any way that VLC can load the files of multiple folders automatically when started? I can do it with one folder by putting the folder path in the "Default stream" box in Preferences --> Playlist and it's extremely convenient, but I just don't know how to do it with more than one folder.

Thanks in advance,
Angela

Well, there are ways to put that in the media library, but it will not update correctly.

Another would be to create a playlist file with
directory:///path/to/folder
directory:///path/to/folder2

and set it to open by default.

Hi,

thanks, I didn't know you could add folders instead of actual files to a playlist, but it works perfectly. :)

Best wishes,
Angela
