Dividing long video into segments with VideoLan

Postby LondonFrontier » 15 Nov 2008 22:19

Dividing video (downloaded from DVD, by VideoLan, to avi format) into parts - ie, 1 hr. video, need to cut it into 10-minute segments to upload on YouTube. HOW?
I'm a novice, so please reply in not-very-technical terms. Thanks!

I'm not sure that vlc is the best software to do this, but something like --stop-time and --start-time might be suitable for you.
