Is possible to stream to anther vlc on network?

Postby genu » 15 Nov 2008 16:03

Hi, We have a computer a church that we use for presentations, and song projection. We also have a feed from the video mixer going into it in case we have to project it. We are considering streaming video, and I was wondering if its possible that I can forward that feed over the network to another server that could then compress it and streaming to the internet through vlc's streaming capabilities. The reason is that The main computer's resources would (i'm assuming) be overwhelmed if I would transcode and stream from it.

Is it possible to do that? or what other options do I have?

Yes you can. You just have to set a stream from the first server to the second. The second server just need to take the stream, do any change on it you need and then stream it back on internet for example.
