Hi,
When I try to install vlc 0.9.5 in Mandriva 2009.0 I get 'No package libdvdplay0 found', but yes I have used Easy urpmi.
Any ideas please?

libdvdplay isn't used in VLC anymore AFAIK and stopped development quite a while ago - use libdvdnav. That looks like an old commandline on the Mandrake/Mandriva too since (if you want to use 0.9.x), the interface is now Qt4 not wxWidgets. Regardless, have you got both?:
* contrib from the core distribution;
* plf (Penguin Liberation Front) from the external add-ons.
Arite.

the same as easy urpmi?

Presumably, yes (from here). Those are the sources you need.

Have you tried running VLC without libdvdplay since it doesn't even use it anymore AFAIK? Try doing a:

Code: Select all

uprmi.update -a urpmi vlc
Arite.
