Press the button or the key.
Hey there...

What button and what key? Please specify what button & key you are talking about. Thanks.

I have been using "Video > Snapshot" or right clicking the image and selecting "Video > Snapshot"

It would be great if there was a key to press... but cannot find any mention of "snapshot" in the help or online VLC documents. I have VLC 0.9.6. running on Windowns XP Pro- There is also no shortcut indicated in VLC next to "snapshot" function.

A solution could include me going into the Registry and adding/assigning a keyboard shortcut letter within the program, if someone can tell me how to do it. I have done so many times with other windows applications.

Example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VideoLAN

Seriously, there is a button to do that... Just look at advanced buttons.

As j-b said there is a snapshot button in the Qt4 interface (just go to "View >> Advanced Controls" etc.).

Also there is a keyboard binding for it (called "Take video snapshot"). Should be either "Shift+S" or "Ctrl+Alt+S" by default.

Arite.

Ok, thanks... found it!
In 0.9.6. it is under

Tools > Advanced Controls

That puts a "Snapshot" button as well as a "Loop A-B" button under the progress bar.

However, have the SLOW MOTION controls been totally done away with?

Many thanks for your replies.

Both sides of the slider.

Ahhhh!!! Ok... MANY THANKS! wow, the tweaking of the interface takes a little getting used to, but *ahem* quite intuitive / common sense, when you know where to look! *blush*

Thanks again.
