Hello,
Does anyone know a way to prevent VLC from automatically playing the next item in the playlist?
I know this defeats the main purpose of having a playlist but I need this functionality because I play the videoclips one by one (and it looks very unproffesional when the next videoclip starts in my situation).

add vlc://pause to your playlist between the clips.

Sorry, but I don't seem to figure out how to add it to the playlist (when it's not a file). Could you describe in detail?

Playlist preferences has a checkbox for "Play and stop". The tooltip says "Stop the playlist after each played playlist item."

Perfect
In the options dialogue I had to tick the "show all" settings to reaveal the playlist options (it was set to simple as default). After setting this, and restarting VLC it works perfect.
