Stream an xvid file to an Aminet 110 STB

Hi there,
I'm working on a project in my final year at college and one aspect of this project is streaming a video stream to an Aminet 110 STB. I'm currently using VLC 0.9.2 and I'm experiencing some difficulties streaming an xvid to the box. I have selected the mpeg2 transcode, but whenever I try to start streaming, VLC crashes. Maybe it's not possible to do this, but I don't see any reason why. If this is a specific error due to this Windows version of VLC, I'm sorry this is in the wrong section of the forum.
The eventual goal of this streaming test is to convert an incoming unicast mpeg4 stream (coming from an IP camera) to a multicast mpeg2 stream the Aminet STB's are able to play. (If anyone knows if this is really possible, let me know. What I can make out of the documentation, this has to be possible.)
Thanks in advance,
Jeroen
BTW: this is the error signature I get :
