How do i set VLC as my standard video player in winxp?

Does anyone know how to set the VLC as my standard video client in windows xp?

when you go to click on the media choose right mouse click use - open with> choose program. then choose vlc and check mark use alway..

but sometimes widows plays nasty and reverts back to what it thinks should be the player. a little microsoft mind conditioning for you... ;)

to over come this goto your mediaplayer option and in the file types uncheck the file you wish the media play not to play. then it should not want to revert it back to the media player
