AC3 2.0 SPDIF problem

Postby frenchkiss » 20 Oct 2004 07:40

i'm currently using 0.8.0-test1, it solved the audio glitch i had with 0.7.2, and now everything runs fine ... EXCEPT the AC3 2.0 output in SPDIF mode (it works when VLC decodes the AC3 and then outputs PCM through the SPDIF) the output stream detected by my external amplifier is the correct format (Dolby Digital,2/0/0,48 KHz/384 kbps) but the data blocks are wrong they are all repeated several times, some are repeated 2 times and some others 3 times... ( I'm using Windows 2000 Pro and the sound chip is a VIA Vinyl )
EDIT:
despite it seems to me like it's a real bug, it was easy to work around after all, it only occurs when using directX sound output mode and does not occur when using the WaveOut sound output mode, it's quite strange that the DirectX mode screws up AC3 data though...
