Hi all,

Now a days i'm working on a project to record five (5) Live channel for 60 days. For this i'm using the VLC 0.8.6h with H.264 enabled.

I recorded the stream in to many formats as .ts, mp4, mpeg2. But the recorded file cannot be played with the VLC or Totem. When I play the file with VLC I only hear the AUDIO. This is same with the Totem. Please help with this.

Further, there are no error messages displaying.

I still stuck at that point. The VLC can play n recorde via TV Anywhere pro capture card. but still cannot do the same using the direct live stream.

There is apparently nothing wrong with your video although it's using a quite high bitrate (10.7 Mbps). That and the 50 FPS mean that you need a good hardware to be able to play this video in software mode, and especially a fast CPU (at least a P4 @ 3 GHz IMO).

Can you post the messages log of VLC when playing this file (Tools -> Messages and set Verbosity Level to 2) and also post a sample ?

now i'm trying to record and save the video to Freenas server. but the recorded file still cannot played. Sorry for the late reply because i'm stuck with the project.

This video is very strange.

It's a MP4 container and the video stream seems to be XviD although no FourCC code is reported. And according to Gspot and MediaInfo the bitrate of the video is 59 Kbps and the audio is AAC LC with a bitrate of 4 Kbps.
These bitrates are way too low, no wonder why nothing is shown nor heard.
And even more weird, variable FPS have been used for the video.

I think there is something you're doing wrong, you should explain us step by step how you have recorded this video.

ok now here i put the steps that i'm dn for the VLC (by the way... i'm using VLC 0.9.2 Grishenko and VLC 0.8.6i)

Media -->> Convert /Save --> Open-->> Capture Device

Capture mode = DirectShow
Video Device Name = 713x DBA Analog Capture
Audio Device Name = 713x DBA Analog Audio Capture



Advanced Options --> video input pin = 1
audio input pin = 4 (all the other settings in the Advanced option are default)


When setting up the output configs...

Encapsulation - MP4
Video - MPEG-4
Bit Rate = 800 Kb/s
Audio - MPEG 4 Audio (AAC)
Bit Rate = 96 Kb/s


All the other setting are set to default..

The saved location is a seperate FreeNAS server storage..
I have tried to save the file in to local hard drive too
Result was the same...

Please help me to save my self...

For testing purposes try to save the file with MPEG-1 encapsulation, MPEG-1 Video and MPEG Audio.

Yes, save the file on your local drive please.
Safer, faster.
