When you ask a user support question it is often very important that you tell us what kind of OS ( Win2000, WinXP, Linux Redhat, Mac OS X) you are running and what version of VLC you are using.
Also report the type of movie the problem occurs with, and wether you have the same problem with other movies (of other types). Be as accurate as possible to make sure we know what you were doing and what VLC was doing.
Did it crash or does it just not play....
What did it report in the messages window.....
etc etc etc
Many people forget this and it would save us much time if everyone just reported complete information the first time they ask they're question.
