Can VLC player stream more than one stream to a client?

Hello,

I am planning to create a web based player with on-demand and live streaming capabilities. The player will receive 2-3 audio streams and 2 video streams and then play them at the same time.

My questions are:
1) Can VLC player stream 2-3 audio and 2 video streams at the same time to the my player?
2) Can VLC player synchronize these streams? For example, when the user presses the "PLAY" button, all audio and video are played simulaneously.
3) Can the ActiveX plugin be used without having to install the VLC Player on the client machine? If yes, can you please give an example? If no, would HTTP Remote Control Interface be another way to control the VLC Player?

On a computer (acting as a "server"), you can use either one VLC instance per streaming or manage all streamings with one VLC instance (have a look at "VLM" in the wiki (http://wiki.videolan.org))

No idea, I don't know how to do this.

The ActiveX is only the glue between a container (Internet Explorer) and VLC libraries. So I think it need to have VLC installed on the client machine.
As a result, client computers need VLC with the ActiveX (installed with VLC as default).

If somebody which do not have VLC installed vlc ActiveX installed try to use a VLC website with Internet Explorer, nothing will be shown.
You can detect that the plugin is missing and ask users to install VLC. VLCobject library, written by revolunet (see http://www.revolunet.com) show a message when the plugin is not found, I don't remember wich one.
