Streaming Live HD Video over a LAN

Hi, I'm trying to broadcast realtime from an HDV camcorder to multiple users in a LAN. At first I figured I would use the Blackmagic Intensity card for its HDMI input, then use VLC's streaming capabilities to stream the video realtime. However, I've heard of compatibility issues between Blackmagic Intensity and VLC, specifically with the audio. Is there another way to do this?
